Hi all. This forum is such an amazing resource, by the way - I keep finding answers to my questions - play biting, eating stones, not eating meals etc etc. So thanks for that.
My question is simple - how long do dalmatians continue to nap a lot - my 16 and a half week old needs a lot of sleep - is this normal?
Thanks in advance,
Ruth |

He is a 4 month old baby (just cos he's getting big doesn't mean he is grown up) and will need lots of sleep. Dalmatians are slow maturers and are not fully adult until they are at least 2. Until he is about 9 months old he will continue to grow at an alarming rate and he needs good quality rest time as well as food and play. Normal puppy behaviour is run round madly and then suddenly keel over and sleep, you need t give him plenty of time to do this. He should have short walks, plenty of opportunity to run around and play and then fairly long rest times. _________________ Maggi, Caper & Poppy (Hon. Thanks Maggi - that makes sense. I just wanted to check he was displaying normal behaviour on this. He is so lovely and seems so well, that I was pretty sure it was, but thanks for the reassurance. |
