It's always handy to know about good dog training schools/classes and in the South West we can highly recommend the 'Best Behaved' Dog Training School.

The classes are run by Mandy Blake who is registered with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, a Chartered Member of the Institute for Animal Care and behaviourist for the National Canine Defence League. She has also worked with the BBC and ITV on several television documentaries including Country file and Barking Mad.

Mandy runs a wide range of classes from the very basic early training to advanced classes. She also does one to one training when needed for specific problems. Her training is based upon a reward system and the overall aim is to teach the owners to 'think dog' .

I can recommend the Yeovil dog training club for anyone in the yeovil area. Its run by Maureen Shelley who is brilliant in my opinion and has certainly got results with a lot of dogs.

Chippenham & District Canine Society run excellent ringcraft classes, Junior handling classes and obedience classes at Langley Burrell village hall (just outside Chippenham about 5 min drive from J17 M4).

They also run the Kennel Club Good citizen scheme and do puppy foundation, bronze, silver and gold.

Ringcraft is on thursdays 7.45pm
Junior handling is alternate weeks on thursdays 6.45pm
Obedience classes are on wednesdays first class starts at 6.30pm
