Well I won't be counting my chickens until they have all gine but it looks as if we have found homes for all the puppies mainly from people who have been on our waiting list (one for more than a year) and have been delighted to get a call saying "would you consider a puppy?" All but a couple have visited and chosen their one and we are now involved in arranging their first injection, worming etc. After such a poor start they have developed into happy little puppies with real little personalities.

Some will stay in their foster home until after Christmas as their adopters have plans for the holiday. Others will be off next week.

Their mum has been spayed, her insides were all a bit of a mess and she too has got more confident and been playing with the resident dogs of the people who are caring for her and enjoying the freedom of a run on the beach.

Maggi is visiting today with a bag of toys so perhaps when she returns she will post some photos.

Thank you all for your good wishes, it has been a bit of a rollercoaster for all of us in Welfare but it seems to have all turned out well. [img][/img]

Christmas came early for the Welfare 10. Aunty Maggie and Aunty Dalregis came bearing puppy gifts. An afternoon of puppy hugs and munches ensued!!! A big thank you from the spotties and all at Welfare.

Oh err - you can all slap me now! I did go and visit the puppies - they are lovely and a real credit to their fosterers. Unfortunately i didn't take photos as I wasn't sure if it would be OK to post them.

Anyway they are growing well (they do look a week or so younger than their proper age) are VERY social and happy. They were allowed to have their Xmas presents a bit early and were all playing like mad.

We've arranged for them to be microchipped this week so they can be properly identified, they've been hearing tested and it looks as though they have all found loving homes (though one prospective owner still to visit). Spare a Xmas thought for the Lottiensafs who are keeping 7 of them until AFTER Xmas to make sure that the new owners have the right time to spend with them because most of them had already made Xmas plans before the puppies cam along.

Well done to all concerned for the wonderful care these poor babies have had - let's hope their lives now proceed in a normal happy spottry manner. I also have news that their mum is slowly recovering from her spaying and gradually putting on weight.

I've asked Lottiensaf to add the Forum details to their puppy pack. The pups are being microcho=ipped today all organised by the generous Dalregis and then start gfoing to their new homes. A few won't be going until after Christmas . We know now that the one we called "Marilyn" - beauty spot on he lip Smile is off to London today and will be called Tian-Tian or sweetness in Mandarin after the Giant Panda.

I hope we will post pictures when Lottiensaf have a proper internet connection. At the moment they are waiting for it to be fixed so can only use a phone for text. I haven't seen pictures for a couple of weeks either.

We also plan to do a feature on them in our next edition of "Welfare Matters". You can receive that by becoming a "friend of Welfare" and downloading a form from http://www.dalmatianwelfare.co.uk/index.php?page=0000000149 .

I'm not sure the link will work but if not go to the website www.dalmatianwelfare.co.uk then Giving and then Friends...

We have started the puppies' socialision so individually, held in Darren's arms, they have been to Waitrose - well outside - and visiting family. We hope that after their bad start they will end up as happy confident pups and certainly they are well on their way to this. They are also eatng like crazy, we've just ordered more food and cleaning solutions to last the remaing ones thorugh to the New Year. All the maufactureres have been very generous and given us significant discounts which has eased the load on our finances

The puppies were all real extroverts when they were chipped - waggy tails and lots of licks. It was great to see them all playing together. They are obviously none the worse for their poor start in life. Miracles can happen Very Happy
