We picked up our little friend George when he was 10 weeks old and he's be 5 months tomorrow.
For some reason George loves to bite, greeting everything and everyone with his month wide open. I don't believe it to be aggressive but it's not helpful.
We've tried the usual ouch, the walking away, giving him his own toy to chew but nothing seems to work....
I know he's still a puppy and he's still learning, but his adult teeth are coming through...
Any advice?

Hi and welcome!
You might get more replies if you posted your problem in the Behaviour section. George is teething so he has a desperate need to chew to help his teeth change easily. And of course dogs don't have hands to explore the world with, only their mouths. So when we would shake hands, they often like to make contact as well, in the only way they can.
The thing they need to learn is how to be gentle! |

I see... Maybe I will move the conversation over there.
It could be because he is teething, but he's been doing it ever since we've had him. In the earlier days he used to explore more with all areas of his month but nowadays he just uses his front teeth to bite (like a hungry hippo)... |
