Hi,
Just saying hello.
I'm new to the Forum, but not to Dals.
Max and Kelsey were brother and sister and were born in November 1997. Kelsey was with us until last September, when very sadly she died as a result of Congestive Heart Failure. We did everything we could to try to save her, but she was just too ill in the end! She was 13 yrs and 10 months old when she died and we miss her every day. Max was 14 yrs and 6 months old when we had to have him put to sleep last May. He couldn't stand for morre than a step or two before he fell over and he was just soo tired. We loved him and cared for him for as long as we could, but it just wasn't fair on him. We did what was best for him and he's back with his sister running around with her in the fields in the sky!!
I currently have a beautiful girl called Jasmine, who's going to be 1 year old later this month.
She shares everything with her "big" sister Bailey (bug) our Chihuahua.
They're a great pair and give us endless laughs - although they CAN be very naughty at times.
I'm sure I'll have many tales to tell on this forum in the coming years!!! _________________ Love my Jasmine and Buggy.

Hello and welcome. My boy Caper and I have just moved back to UK but when we were in France his best girl friend was a chihuahua. If you search through the photos for 'Little and large' I think you'll find some of them together. Look forward to hearing all about Jasmine and seeing her photos of course. _________________ Maggi, Caper & Poppy (Hon. Spot)- Banjoliers, Faithful Followers and Forum Wanderers. |

Thanks for the lovely welcome everyone. I WILL post some photos on here as soon as I get around to it!! Jasmine's been keeping me busy lately!
She appears to have an allergy of some sort - we think it's grass as she scratches and chews like mad after she's been running through long grass in the Country Park.
After visits to the vets and spending fortune's on tablets we decided to try a herbal remedy. Our neighbour recommended Wendal's Stop Itch for dogs. It's in liquid form and all you do is add it to one of their meals every day. Along with giving her a Piriton in the morning and one in the evening, this seems to have done the trick!!!
Poor girl was red raw before, but now the sore patches have cleared up and she's not driving herslef and me mad with scratching!!
probably the wrong Forum Topic for this, but I'm at work at the moment, so am in a rush.
Will post photos soon!
Cheers. _________________ Love my Jasmine and Buggy.

Oh thanks I might give that a try.
We are in Essex too and young Daisy is always itchy in August and Sept.
We think it's a grass too. _________________ Carol and Daisy X |

Hi,
Yes, probably is. I also used a tiny bit of Hydrocortisone cream on the sore bits. By morning they redness had gone right down and has stayed down with just that one application.
Worth keeping in mind!!! _________________ Love my Jasmine and Buggy.
