You may or may not have noticed that I haven't been on all that much. Viewing the forum on IE 8 is extremely painful when it comes to things like scrolling etc.

I am fine on previous versions, but every pc I have tried that has 8 on is the same. Is there something specific I need to do? It is only this website that seems to be affected so really confused Confused

I stopped using IE a long time ago and have Firefox as my default browser. Have never had any problems since.

Hi Gill just tried using IE8 (normally view on my phone using Opera mobile which really can be 'interesting' at times) and it seems fine. Hope you get this sorted as we need you here

I don't think it's IE8 specifically, if it's the jerky scrolling you mean. It did that (for me anyway) before I (or rather my OH Rolling Eyes ) 'upgraded' to IE8.

OK thanks guys.

Yes JG it is really jerky to scroll, but each jerk takes forever, a bit like being on dial-up internet again Shocked If it's a long thread, it takes me forever to get down to the bottom.

Did try Firefox before when IE had that security issue of theirs, must admit I don't handle change very well Laughing so went back to what I was used to as soon as I could.

I suppose I'll have to get used to it

Anyone else having problems and does anyone of you computer wizards know if there is any way to go back:?:

OK tried again after reading the other posts thoroughly and I see what you mean. If you google this then this is not caused by this forum but lies with IE8. Unfortunately no -one has a fix yet. I guess you will have to try another browser Gill or are you at work?

Thanks Dave - Its at home that I am IE8, but will start using Firefox to view this site as suggested by the post Admin has put up.

At work we have just had the IE7 upgrade this week so will be a while before they force 8 onto us Laughing and thats fine, just can't get on as much at work.

I was pointed in the direction of this site which I haven't yet got round to trying, but if IE8 continues being as rubbish as it is so far I'm going back to IE6!

Husband's boss has threatened anyone who downloads IE8 onto the computers at work with all sorts of horrible consequences!

Some of us Mac users have had this problem since the site up last updated. my Safari browser would'nt scoll at all. Had down loaded Firefox 2 and that was jerky but could live with it. This was the only site I had trouble with.Would think those with older PC's can't access the site at all. Now upgraded to the latest operating system and both the latest versions of Safari and Firefox work normal.

I've just got myself a mac and no more problems with the website at all using Safari. Perhaps there's been an update?
